Mr. Cody Rogers was appointed Assistant Principal of Rogers Middle School by the West Irondequoit CSD Board of Education on Tuesday. He has spent the past six years as a teacher at Rogers, including the 2023-24 school year as its Lead Teacher.
“Mr. Rogers embodies our commitment to ‘All Means All.’ His collaborative approach, active listening and empathy contribute significantly to student success and a positive school culture,” said Rogers Principal, Mr. Nicholas DiMartino. “Notably, he spearheaded an inclusive process for class roster creation and championed morning meetings and restorative circles. We are excited to have Cody working to support our Rogers community!”
Mr. Rogers earned his Bachelor of Science in Education with a concentration in biology from SUNY Oswego and his Master of Science in Adolescent Inclusive Education from Nazareth University. He has also earned his Advanced Certificate in School District/Building Leadership this year from the University of Rochester.
He began his career as a teacher in Palmyra-Macedon (sixth grade) in 2017. He joined the WICSD a year later as a fifth-grade English Language Arts teacher at Rogers and was honored that year with a Golden Apple Award from WROC-TV, Channel 8. He taught fourth grade at Rogers from 2020-23 and also was an Extended School Year teacher (grades 4-6) each summer from 2019-23.
Mr. Rogers and his family reside in Victor, Ontario County.
