West Irondequoit Odyssey of the Mind had an epic day at the NYS Finals on Saturday, March 24, as four teams qualified for the World Finals! All represented our district and Odyssey Region 14 well! Worlds are in late May in Ames, Iowa. Results are below (qualifiers in bold):
- Iroquois 4th & 5th grade - 1st place (18-team division)
- IHS 10th & 11th grade - 2nd place (6)
- Dake 7th grade - 3rd place (19)
- IHS 9th grade - 3rd place (12)
- Rogers 4th grade - 5th place (20)
- Iroquois 4th grade - 12th place (17)
Congratulations to all! OM sends a special shoutout to freshman, Peter Rinella, who divided his time between the Odyssey stage in Syracuse and the IHS stage as a member of “The Hello Girls!” musical. Talk about talent, passion & commitment! It was an unforgettable experience for all! A total of 208 teams competed to celebrate creativity. Our group showed amazing teamwork and dedication and wish to thank their coaches, families and the community for their support and encouragement.
